In order to successfully complete a WebFOCUS Client Upgrade, you need to run the Upgrade Configuration utility from the WebFOCUS Administration Console. This utility successfully upgrades the cgivars.wfs, install.cfg, and bid-config.xml files and merges entries in the existing files with the new files that were installed as a result of the WebFOCUS Client Upgrade.
Note: If any of these files were manually customized prior to running the WebFOCUS Client Upgrade, the changes are not retained and the customizations have to be performed again after the Upgrade Configuration is completed.
The first time you access the WebFOCUS Administration Console after running the WebFOCUS Client upgrade, you are prompted to run the Upgrade Configuration, as shown in the following image.
If you decide to select Upgrade Later, the Upgrade Configuration option will be available in the top menu of the console, as shown in the following image.
Note: If any failures occur (result is not “Pass”), you can attempt to fix the problem now and run the Upgrade Configuration again at another time.
The upgrade utility restores the Business Intelligence Dashboard configuration.
The Upgrading Configuration panel appears, as shown in the following image.
Note: Any parameter that has an asterisk next to it indicates a new parameter in the cgivars.wfs file.
When the dialog box shown in the following image appears, click OK to complete the upgrade.
