In addition to the ReportCaster user ID and Execution ID, the following user IDs can be used with ReportCaster:
When Managed Reporting is configured with ReportCaster, this is the default Managed Reporting 'admin' user ID (no password) that allows initial administrative access to both Managed Reporting and ReportCaster. For information about securing this account when Managed Reporting is configured with ReportCaster, see Securing the Managed Reporting/ReportCaster Administrator Account.
In a standalone ReportCaster environment, this user ID is necessary to log on to ReportCaster for the first time. This user ID allows a ReportCaster Administrator to access Managed Reporting to create and maintain ReportCaster users without having to create a new Managed Reporting Administrator user ID. The default Managed Reporting/ReportCaster Administrator ID is located under the User Info setting in the General tab in the ReportCaster Server Configuration tool.
The ReportCaster Distribution Server requires a user ID that should be used to start and stop the server. For details, see ReportCaster Distribution Server Permissions.
If the Web server requires a user ID and password for sign-on, you must specify these values in the HTTP User setting in the MR Info tab of the ReportCaster Server Configuration tool. This setting only applies when Managed Reporting is configured with ReportCaster. For more detailed information, see the Configuring Managed Reporting for Trusted or External Authentication chapter in the WebFOCUS Security and Administration manual.
The SRV User setting in the General tab of the ReportCaster Server Configuration tool is the database user ID and password used by the JDBC driver to connect to the ReportCaster Repository.
Note: When using DB2 on z/OS for the ReportCaster Repository, there are several considerations for security. For more information on configuring DB2, see the WebFOCUS and ReportCaster Installation and Configuration for z/OS manual.
During installation, you can specify a default FTP user ID and password for distributing FTP requests. These values are stored in the Default FTP User ID/Password setting in the General tab of the ReportCaster Server Configuration tool. The default values you specify in the tool display in the Distribution tab when creating an FTP schedule. Users creating an FTP schedule can accept or override these default values as needed. Every FTP schedule has an FTP user ID and password associated with it in the ReportCaster Repository.
